In a new addition to the newsletter and website, we are pleased to share some news and updates from the Local Authority.

New SEND Support Guide Just Launched!

We’re excited to share the launch of Our Plan for SEND – a brand-new online guide from Bath & North East Somerset Council that explains how the local area will support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) up to age 25. This page is here to help families understand what’s being done to improve support, what’s planned for the future and how services are working together to make sure every child can thrive from early years through to adulthood.

Whether you’re looking for clear info on how SEND support works in our area, want to learn about inclusive education, or want to see how families, schools and health services are partnering for better outcomes, this is for you!

The plan covers key priorities including early identification of needs, improving Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), creating more school places and working with families to make sure their voices are heard every step of the way.

Check it out here and share with other parents: https://www.bathnes.gov.uk/our-plan-send

‘You said, we did’

Thank you to all the parents and carers who completed our EHCP SEND survey. Your feedback has been incredibly valuable. You said you wanted clearer communication, more consistency and better support through the EHCP process, and we did listen carefully to what you told us. Your views are helping to shape improvements to how services work with families, and they will continue to guide our work going forward.
