How we’re funded
Our work is made possible through a combination of grant funding, partnerships, and community support. As a Parent Carer Forum, we receive core funding from the Department for Education (DfE) to help us engage with local families, represent their voices, and contribute to improving services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
This funding enables us to strengthen our network, provide opportunities for parent carers to shape local services, and work collaboratively with partners at both local and national levels. Alongside this, we actively seek additional funding and develop new income streams to ensure we can continue to grow, respond to community needs, and build a sustainable future.
As a Community Interest Company (CIC), we are committed to operating transparently and responsibly. We meet national regulatory requirements, including financial reporting and monitoring, and uphold our responsibilities as an employer. These foundations ensure that our organisation remains accountable, professional, and focused on delivering meaningful impact.
Building a sustainable future
To continue supporting families effectively, we are focused on developing a resilient and sustainable organisation. This includes expanding our membership, increasing awareness of our work, and strengthening our digital resources to reach more families. By listening to our community and using data to identify unmet needs, we can target our support where it is most needed.
Partnership working is central to everything we do. We collaborate with local authorities, education settings, health services, and other voluntary organisations to improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND. These relationships help us amplify parent carer voices and drive positive change across our community.
We are also exploring new funding opportunities, developing robust business cases, and creating evidence of our impact through case studies and feedback. Our goal is to secure longer-term funding that allows us to plan ahead, retain skilled staff, and build a strong foundation for the future.
