Could you be our next non-Executive Director?
B&NES Parent Carer Forum (PCF) is led and run by local parent carers to ensure the voices of disabled children, young people and their families in B&NES are heard by service providers We are set up as a Community Interest Company (CIC), which is primarily operated for community benefit rather than private profit. The Board of Directors is comprised of our Chief Executive Officer who is responsible for the delivery of our vision and goals, and Non-Executive Directors who provide oversight to ensure the organisation is meeting the needs of our community. Working with our team, community representatives and our Advisory Group, the Non-Executive Directors use their own skills and experiences (professional and personal) to help guide and shape our forum as we continue to support families and drive change.
If you are a Parent Carer, with strong strategic thinking skills and an interest in building our forum, then we would love to hear from you. We would be particularly interested in hearing from members of our community who have a professional background in the health sector, but this isn’t essential. We want our Board to reflect the full diversity of the communities we serve and therefore actively encourage applications from individuals from under-represented groups, and from people with lived experience of the issues facing our services users’.
We would ask you to commit to attending quarterly Directors’ meetings, Advisory Group meetings and be available (via electronic communication) to provide guidance and support to our executive team. Further opportunities to represent the Forum in meetings with strategic partners in which we contribute to policy development may also be available.
If you are interested and feel you could add strength to our small, friendly team, please reach out and contact our CEO, Rachel Hale in the first instance –
