Being a parent carer is not easy and, as well as supporting our children’s well-being, it is really important that we look after our own too. These groups and services can offer well-being support for parent carers and young people.

There are many charities that support children and young people with SEND and their families. Some of the charities are national and others are local to BANES. Here you will be able to find out more about the charities that offer the right support for you and/or find out how to volunteer.
Preparing for adulthood can mean considering things such as independent living, further education and careers. A young person with additional needs may face extra challenges when making these choices but there are places that can help.
